Appalachian Tightlining and Mountain Bear Fly Co are the creation of Jeremy Bear Hedrick. Blending his love of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Southern Appalachia and black bears. A few short years ago, after retiring from over twenty years of mountain bike adventures and racing he was never really good at, Jeremy picked up a fly rod and discovered a love of fly fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains and the surrounding Appalachian Mountains.

Almost immediately, Jeremy became enchanted with tightline nymphing and tightline dry/dropper systems over the traditional fly-casting technique in the Southern Appalachia. Being ever the explorer and adventurer—some might say sadist—in his pursuit of finding the magic hidden within nature, Jeremy experiments by combining today’s modern ideas with ancient Appalachian roots of tightline fly fishing. He’s excited to share those discoveries and to continue to learn.
